This oil has been used in religious ceremonies for centuries. The essential oil is extracted from a thick resin from the Benzoin tree. For centuries benzoin has been used throughout Asia as incense and perfume. It may serve as a disinfectant and antidepressant. The essential oil is often used in soaps because of its aroma. I use it in an oil diffuser and it fills the room up with great calming energy. I had no problem using it into my skin oil concoction. Smells great. I bought this to substitute vanilla scent. – Bridgette U.
I could smell this Benzoin oil pretty much all day. It’s like Vanilla’s sister oil. It is a tad sweeter, very much like cream soda. I used it with some Bergamot and Ylang Ylang and made a really wonderful relaxing perfume. – Sandy D.
